Curriculum Vitae

Meredith Leigh, PhD joins FAU as a Senior Site Planner in the Zoning Division at Palm Beach County Department of Planning Zoning and Building and an Adjunct Lecturer for the University of Florida Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning online degree program. She holds a PhD in Design, Construction and Planning, a Master of Landscape Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Art in History from the University of Florida. Dr. Leigh has taught high school world history and religions, as well as undergraduate and graduate level courses in design communications for landscape architecture, site analysis, and site design methodologies at UF’s School of Landscape Architecture and Planning.

Her professional experience has ranged from small- to large-scale projects, designing rails-to-trails, planned developments, residential and commercial site planning and landscape design.  Dr. Leigh’s research interest was also diverse, focused on both the design of experiential landscapes and developing a typology for identifying urban food deserts. In 2017 and 2018, she was selected to participate at the American Society of Landscape Architects Diversity Summit, where the goal is to understand and develop strategies to address the diversity gap within the profession of landscape architecture.
