CUES Director John Renne, Ph.D., AICP, was appointed by the ULI to chair the Mobility Committee for Southeast Florida and the Caribbean District Council. ULI staff is excited for Renne to take a leadership role in helping to envision a future strategy for transportation and land use policy for South Florida and to look for opportunities to expand their work to issues across the Caribbean.
Dr. Renne has been appointed to serve on the Miami-Dade County Urban Expansion Area Task Force. This group will advise the county on containing and/or expanding urban growth.
Dr. Renne participated on the City of West Palm Beach Advisory Committee to select a consultant for a Downtown Mobility Study.
John Renne, PhD, AICP, chairs the Committee on Transportation and Land Development (ADD30), a Standing Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies. which includes leading experts from public, private and academic sectors to focus on land use and transportation planning and policy.
Dr. Renne serves on the Advisory Board of the TOD Institute, the leading national planning organization facilitating the roll-out of walkable, mixed-use, sustainable communities around rail stations.
John Renne, PhD, AICP, is the FAU liaison to the Palm Beach County Planning Congress.
John Renne has joined Broward County Transit (BCT), Transit Development Plan (TDP), Advisory Review Committee, serving as the Chair of the Committee.
John Renne will serve on the Transportation Research Board, Expert Panel Workshop for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Project 08-117 – Impact of Transformational Technologies on Land Use and Transportation, August 16, 2018 at the Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences & Engineering, Irvine, California.
