The purpose of this Continuing Education course is to provide students with basic clinical skills that will ensure meaningful medical experiences (through shadowing or volunteering) prior to entering a health-related graduate program (medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant, veterinary, physical therapy, podiatry, and optometry).
Students will have the opportunity to complete CPR certification. Learn Blood Pressure skills, patient care and history, Vital signs, Blood Borne Pathogens, HIPAA training, and common medical errors, and recognize how the 12 lead ECG relates to the areas of the heart.
Course Schedule:
Session 1 : 2/8 - 3/12
Session 2 : 3/ 22 - 4/23
Students will be required to attend one mandatory in-person session. The dates for the in-person sessions are May 11, 18, or 20 (choose one)

This continuing education course is a test preparation course intended for students to “challenge” the CNA exam. This exam preparation course is not affiliated with any certifying boards.
The FAU CNA course is a test preparation course intended for students to “challenge” the CNA exam. The exam preparation course is not affiliated with any certifying boards. The instructors are Nurses and are approved through the Florida Board of Nursing to teach a variety of certification courses.
No. Students must sign up through Prometric Testing Centers and pay them directly before, during or after the prep course. Prometric Centers are located nearby and you will go to their facility to test.
The background check will have to be done prior to signing up for the Prometric exam.
No. All lectures and skills will be performed during the designated days and times of the course.
FAU students pay $275.00
Non-FAU students pay $325.00.
Parking fees are not included in the cost of the course.
All students registered for the course will need to purchase the CNA textbook and kit for $50.
The course meets in-person Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. on the Davie campus and Monday through Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
